Facts and Statistics about International Pupils at Scotland's Boarding Schools

Currently, a quarter of boarders at Scotland’s Boarding Schools are international students.

As at 1st September 2012 (the date of the annual census by Scottish Council of Independent Schools) 25.8% of boarders were attracted from overseas with the majority coming from Germany, Mainland China, Russia, Hong Kong, Rest of Europe EEA, Spain, North America, South Asia, France and Nigeria.

International students, as a percentage of all boarders, are shown below for the past seven years.
